2 Questions....
Anyone have the International part number for the bellowed up pipes?
Also, just out of curiosity, I have seen mention of catalytic converters on 7.3's, and it looks like mine MIGHT have had one cutout and replaced with a pipe, I thought that they didn't use cats until the 6.0. Did the 7.3's have cats from the factory? Thanks. -Aaron |

Good luck getting a straight answer on the cat. Some say certain years had them some didn't. Some say 7.3's never had them. I think the most accurate way i've found of telling is to look at the sticker under the hood in the front. If it came from the factory with a cat on it, then it will have the word "catalyst" or "catalytic" on it somewhere.
Also I think all Cali trucks had them. |

Some 7.3L's had cats. They were put on for the emission regulations of some states like california. My truck did not have a cat but it was designated for sale in Michigan. Which didn't have emission regulations for diesel trucks until the 6.0L came out. But that was by the Federal emission regulations.
The bellow pipes can be ordered from ITP diesel. |

call a ford dealership and give them your vin and they will be able to tell you if your truck should have one

My early 99 Cali model had a cat, at least I think it did because there was a piece of pipe welded in where a cat should be when I bought it.

It doesn't really matter if it had a cat on it or not as of right now. At least not until they get done taxing and adding new laws to combat this man made "global warming" that doesn't even exist. I was just wondering if they did or didn't have them. Thanks.
As for the up pipes...I get a bunch of my stuff from ITP. I have had nothing but good experiences and will probably get them from there if I can't get them locally, but I hear that International sells them for $350ish and we got a dealer about 30 minutes away. I guess I could just give them a call, figured it would be easier if someone had the part number to just call and get the price/availability without the hassle of looking it up. -Aaron |
