Powerstroke HP

I found these specifications for the powerstrokes.

I want to buy the newest new body style with the 7.3 auto crew cab 4X4. I figured I wanted an 03 since that was the last year they made them I figured they were the best. According to this I would want to get the 02 since it is rated at 250 HP and the 03 is only 210 HP. Is this right????

i think the 01's were the best year cause of the rods. someone correct me if im wrong

I heard that about the rods, I guess I am most interested about HP, I would probably eventually get a chip thats about the only modding I will be doing.

i think there are some 01 with the forged rods and then some with the pmr's. depending on when and where the motor was built

If your just doing a chip youll be fine with the PMRs but if your planning on making a lot of power get one with the forged rods

On the link above are the HP numbers right, it doesn't seem right I would think the 03 would have the most HP?

pretty sure the 94-00 and 01? not sure on that all have forged rods

Hahaha I love how everybody strays from the topic...

I believe, not a hundy percent on this one, but the 03 7.3 had like 275 HP. Check out beepbeep.com, they used to have a bunch of reviews with all the engine specs on there, not so sure anymore.

At least now you know which ones have the different rods!
