Hard starting...

My truck didnt want to start yesterday. I havent had any problems with it untill just now, it would turn over and puff smoke but wouldnt start. The wait to start light comes on, and my fuel isnt gelled. It does however fire right off when it has been plugged in. My instinct is that the glow plugs went out on it, but i know there is a relay in there too. Wondering what you guys think it might be, where the relay is located, where the glow plugs are, and the best way to get them out and check them.

GP's won't go out all at once, check your entire GP system per the above link and you should find the problem.

Also, what oil are you using? 15w40 is great for most of the year except when it gets in the teens or lower.

Those glowplugs don't last more than about three or four years.
