Question Early 99 HARD STARTING>>>>>>>

Ok just bought the truck Tuesday and it sat from then till evening Thursday. I WILL SAY ROUGH STARTING IT, it took me about 10 min fighting with her to start finally it did. The guy told me he was told it needed either a GP relay or the GP replaced. The wait light comes on and stays on for a while, I have a feeling they are the original GP on this truck. I finally got it to start and she was blowing some white smoke at the begining then it went away. I know this is a tall tail sign of bad glow plugs. At least on my IDI it was. OK here is the thing I am going to get some GP and replace it Saturday but I have never owned a PSD and never done the GP , are they in the same area as the IDI or totally different then the IDI. Is it hard to replace them? INput guys any little help will guide me. :dunno I think the relay is ok that is just my hunch.

Dunno where they are on an IDI, but on the PSD they are under the valve covers and kind of tucked in above the injectors. Once you get the valve covers off (this is the hardest part of the job) you will be able to find them easily... single wire going to each one. You'll need a 1/4" drive 10mm deep well to get them out.

I put it in the shop and ill see if that makes a difference. It was tough getting her fired up, hell I even though maybe it was the fuel pump..........but she fired up and I let it run for a few min did not want it to get to warm before trying it again she fired right up. How do I check the GP relay???? Is there a way?

I am doing an oil change, fuel filter and air filter change, I also picked up a GP relay from my local IH dealer...........get this for 27 bucks.....for that price I am putting it on why not put a new one on for this price. I have a question does my truck take 2 GP relays , someone told me that it did? I though it only took one?
