HAs anybody heard that the eco tune on dp tuner has been blowing motors. I have a 2000 psd. People have been telling me not to use this tune on my truck

I have heard the same thing. It usually happens when towing on the econ tune. If what i've heard is correct, its because the injection timing is really advanced.

I'd like to know what people are towing because i'm running that and my truck is about 10,600#'s empty, and i drive it pretty hard. I talked to Jody thouroughly before putting it in and he said i woouldn't have any problems (knock on wood)

Why wouldn't you get a tow tune if your towing?

I'll tow lighter stuff, like under 5k in econ on my TW simply because with something that light i don't need or want it shifting in the higher RPM's that the tow tune causes.

thats a very good question. i recently just picked up a new dp tuner and the econo tune is a little bit more aggressive then my older econo tune it also smokes a little more and i get less fuel millage with it as well. dont get me wrong i still love both my dp tuners and will never use anything else but that's what i have noticed other than that works great even the tow tune i got for towing works awesome.

"80 hp Econo- used for Daily diving. Not recommended for towing. The shift strategies, fueling and other aspects of the tuning is different from the tow tunes."
