im sorry

well i think its sadly come down to doing a 12v conversion on the truck . came across a great deal on it and it makes good power now. im gona miss the 7.3.

No apology necessary... The 12v is a great motor and will be capable of A LOT more than the 7.3L ever was performance wise. There is a reason that there are a lot of cummins conversions out there.

Only issue I have with the 12v is tuning... If you want a 600hp 5.9 12v you have to have it all the time... 24v would be my choice.

sweet man! be sure to keep us posted. when the ole 7.3 goes that 12v is goin in to replace her. (hopefully no time soon) plus those 12v's sound great with stacks!

Does the 12v conversion mean yer not gonna hang around the 7.3PSD BB anymore? Maybe there should be a cummins conversion page here, like there is for the early '99s. Just a thought...

Anyway, good luck with your project, I found out recently that a buddy of mine just bought a '90 1 ton dodge to swap out the drivetrain into his suburban... a few years ago he swaped a '50's dodge cab onto a '91 cummins chassis, it's a sweet truck too... I like my PSD as much as the next guy, but the cummins have somethin' special about 'em. As was said, they sound sweet with stacks!

if the 7.3 was capable of running low 11's with out massive amounts of money id love to keep it. i almsot feel bad though because ive been a blue oval fan for so long it just seems like no one has come up with a good cheaper way to make power . and for the price i picked up the 12v at im not complaining at all. at least least im keeping the ford trans and body
