The K&N is crap... nuff said about that.
If you want to make more power, the Edge just isn't gonna cut it. No idea if you can stack or not, I didn't screw around with the off-the-shelf stuff at all. Get a DP Tuner or TW chip and you'll be way better off.
FWIW, my early 99 without the DP Tuner would easily make 25 lbs boost. Now I can hit 30+, stock turbo and sticks. Anything over 25lbs is past the point of efficiency of the turbo though, so all you are doing is blowing superheated air into the motor and raising your EGT's.
Oh, and to do the turbo swap you need the turbo, pedistal, up-pipes, collector (baby's butt), spyder pipe, plenums for the heads, and spyder to plenum boots.
