I'm not sure what you are reffering to with Fuel Oil. I have heard that Kerosene is close to diesel. It would probably be illegal to use. I wouldnt recommend it.

Fuel Oil refers to home heating oil, which is exactly the same as off- road diesel. I've always been told that if you accidently put fuel oil in, it won't harm anything, but other than being illegal because of no road taxes, I don't think it's very good for the truck. Regular diesel is low sulfur...As for Kerosene, I don't know....Check purduefarmboy's threads...he has one on "farm diesel"

one additional thought....farm or off-road diesel is more likely to clog your injectors....so I wouldn't try it

Welcome Bald1!
So Wes does that mean that since heating oil prices are expected to skyrocket this winter that diesel will follow?

its hard to say...my dad has a heating oil business, so i know a little about it....unlike diesel which is consumed un predicatbly at the fuel pump, heating oil companies can make predictions based on previous years usage, etc. If a company does it well enough, they can buy fuel in bulk, like by the barge, and have a flat rate instead of load to load fluctuations...as for regular diesel, its taxed and cunsumed much like gasoline, so it follows a similar curve....with the exception that it's tended to be higher more recently...before gas was so much, say, when gasoline was 1.30 gal, diesel was .89 gal....demand has gone up recently...sorry to say it, but its thanks to us....on that happy note, drive with care and buy sinclair.
