Oiling an AFE filter

I just cleaned and oiled my blue afe air filter for the second time but I still don't know how much oil to put on it. I sprayed it twice and it looks pretty saturated on the outside but when I look at it from the inside and hold it up to the light some of it looks saturated all the way through and some of it looks like it doesn't have any oil on it. I don't know if i'm over oiling it or if i'm not putting enough on to catch all the dirt that it's supposed to. Does anyone out there actually know how much oil is supposed to go on these filters? I think the next time I need to clean my filter I will just buy a dry filter.

Try getting an S&B recharge kit. It has a suction device that helps you distribute the correct amount of oil to each pleat on your airfilter. When it comes to oiling your airfilter, oil is oil, but you can still use the oil from your AFE kit. It looks like this:

Just spray it till it's evenly coated in blue, and it's not dripping.
