Compression question.

For those of you who HAVE tested the compression, I have a question...

Have you seen valve\valve seat damage and still had decent compression (above 390psi)???

Engine was tested at ambient outside temp.
Very little to no oil leaked into the cylinder when glow plug was removed.
Pressures held for 2-3 min before gauge was removed to move the the next cylinder.

Dirk, forgive me for hijacking your thread, but do you have a p/n for the adaptor to run a compression test? If you tell me, I can answer your question!

I run the compression test and usually give it 3-5 cranks to get the compression and then move on. I don't let it sit there because the gauge I use takes the maximum value achieved and holds it there.

right. So does mine. I'm just questioning the state of the valves\seats due to issues I'm having.
