Wix/Napa Gold Filters

Hey i just went from motorcraft 2 wix and its seems like the wix filter likes 2 leak around the front of the bowl closet 2 cab. Anyone else have this problem and whats the best way to get the gasket to work since i got a brand new wix free of charge from the parts store? Add napa in because its the same as the wix....

I dont like the filters with the built in cap, always leaked. Look around on some
of the sponsor sites and get the filters from them. Same as the F0rd ones, but
much cheaper. I get 4-5 at a time and they last many years.

I installed the NAPA gold one, the updated one with the square cut seal and built in lid, about 4000 miles ago. It leaks. Enough to always get diesel on my fingers when I check but not enough to accumulate in the valley so I run it.

I actually tightened it more since nobody knows just how tight to tighten the filter and it didn't really help. All of the instructions and "how-to" articles just say to tighten it.

I kept the lid from the last filer which was the seperate lid/filter style and have bought the motorcraft one for my next change. It has the OEM style bevelled gasket.

Mine leaks on the cab side too. Not in front.
