Strategy code changed???
I know that every PCM type has it's own strategy code. Mine is and XLE4 so the strategy code is VHAE9J2. Today I noticed on my Livewire that my strategy code changed. It now says VHAF7J2, which is the code for an XLE8 PCM. Does this make sense? Can your strategy code change like that without the PCM being re-flashed?

Call or email Jody at DP. I have never heard of this. Havce you used the programmer on another truck?

Never used it on another truck. Just the other day it was the XLE4 strategy. The only thing I can think of when I started looking at stuff is I had TW send me some files for my Livewire. He used the XLE8 strategy for the tunes. Since they are both XLE format it should work fine. The only thing I can think of is maybe on the flip chips since they just go on the computer nothing happens but with a programmer it like re-flashed the computer with the XLE8??????? But I don't think that makes sense. Plus I noticed it when I was switching tunes and Tony's hadn't been on there for a couple days. So on that logic it should have switched back to the XLE4 that the other files are written on. I've sent Tony's some messages and haven't heard back yet. So I may try calling around.

Does it show the XLE4 strategy when returned to stock or still show the xle8

Returned to stock it has the XLE4. When Tony's tunes are loaded it goes back to XLE8 and then stays there. Even when I load other tunes that are XLE4 format it stays XLE8. But then if returned to stock it has XLE4.

Thats odd. My guess is Tony flashed the xle8 complete strategy in along with his tuning

Well then.....if that is what is happening, that would mean I could do the same thing with Tony but for say a PMT1?
