In tank fuel filters

I'd like to replace them but don't want to drive to the dealership. Is there any place on line where I can order them?

Google hutch/harpoon mod. It's on the guzzler website then just install a frame mounted filter. Napa part numbers for the filter is 3405 and the base is 4770.

How exactly do you figure out when they need to be changed or switch to the hutch mod?

First off you can clean them, they don't need replaced. Most people eliminate then so they don't have to drop the tank to clean them. I would do it if it's never been done before. It's more of a preventative maintenance type of thing.

There is no in tank filter. There is a screen on the pick up hose, but it is far from a filter.

Your right on the filter, it's a screen. It's the white part in the pic. In tank fuel filters-imageuploadedbyag-free1406809986.037673.jpg

The white thing is a mixing chamber. There is a screen on the foot.

Yes he is right there are those cylindrical type of filters inside the white mixing chamber. They look like the filters in the OBS fuel pressure regulator if you have ever had one of those apart
