Thumbs up Oil changes and such..

Hi All..

This time around due to time I am going to bring my truck to the diesel shop for a oil change..They use valvoline premium blue any thoughts on that.....I also always struggle with mpg and did mostly highway and avg 14.3. ...Anything that I can have them look at while I have it down there? I read that there is 2 fuel filters in the fuel tank if so true how much do those usually run to clean all that up....Any suggestions on maintenance or to just check would greatly appreciated!

The tank filter's you'r referring too will get plugged up over the years, this is where most guys perform the "hutch mod" which eliminate's those 2 filters and add's an external filter instead. Since I did not want too mess around with mine I had my diesel guy clean those filter and it cost around $250, and he also replaced my broken fuel pick up. If I had a lift and a extra pair of hands I would do it myself but I'm not wrestling with my tank laying in the driveway.

Ok good to know...Anything else I should look out for to check or do? Transmission flush..rear different fluid or aftermarket cover...Anything to look at with motor? Just want to get some ideas and put a check list together to keep things fresh and in working order....

Thanks!

Do you know what's in there now? Stay with that if you know if not, I use Delo-400 or you can use Rotella T6 like a lot do on here. If your in cold weather I'd go with rotella for easier cold starts

i run mobil delvac 1300 from the local farm store($68 for 5 gallons bucket) with a Motor craft Filter I change it every 5k miles

trans fluid service (mercron/dexron) /Filter if Auto
Valvoline.com > Products > Automatic Transmission Products > Automatic Transmission Fluid > Valvoline® DEX/MERC ATF
is what i have in mine right now

fuel filter on top of the engine.

check ICP for OIL in electrical plug,

glow-plugs(never know if/what the PO installed in it, install ONLY Beru(Motor-craft)

upgrade to Snow plow Relay or White-Rodgers Glow PLug Relay

if >100kmiles diff fluid. and t-case fluid
maybe clean the ebpv sensor tube/replace sensor is mileage is low

just basics, can grease the joints/Driveshaft if needed, but that is where i would start...
