Alarm problem need help
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would a door lock actuator keep the alarm from setting? I have tested my alarm and found it is not working. I have one actuator not unlocking one door. Do the two things have anything to do with one another or what should I look at to troubleshoot my alarm? Thanks, Brian |

I found with my system, that there is a comon problem with the door lights. The Fords do not use the old door pin system, instead they use a set up that works off the door latch mechenism instead. This has a tendency to stick, and your interior lights will stay on. This will affect the working of your allarm system, because it works off of the electrical draw. The advice I was given was to spray WD40 into the mechanism, and hope for the best
I hope this helps, I know its a little late,good luck.GORD. |

Yea I also have that problem too along with the alarm issue. Some times the light will come on then shut off when I start to drive then come on again when i slow down to stop but this don't happen everytime and I can't pin point what door or doors I am having the problem with. I have thought that this could have something with my alarm but didn't know if was that or the lock. Where should I spray the WD-40, into the latch on the side of the door or do I need to take the door apart and spray something in there? I might just do it to all the doors to try and fix the problem.

When they installed the alarm, the interior light was probably sticking.so what they do is disarm the interior light setup, your impact sensor, remote start etc. still works, but the door opening alarm will not work. They should have told you about it , but I find the quality of workmanship in that industry is lacking. I am going to do all the doors in mine, fix or replace what needs it . Good luck with yours.
