Oil Leak, identify culprit?

Can someone tell me, after viewing the attachments, what this is? As you can see it is slotted opening, almost like a standard type screw. But i've been afraid to stick a screwdriver in it until i know what it is. Location is on the passenger side of the tranny, but i'm pretty sure its engine oil because its dark like oil, not red like ATV.
But its leaking. Not enough to leave drips but enough to spread around under the tranny when traveling down the road and annoy me. Could it be some kind of vent?
