Got Codes Now what?

Ok; thanks for all the advice to buy the AE scanner got it learning to use it.My 2003 7.3L PSD will blow white smoke on start up and diesel smell. Ran an injector buzz test (sounded all the same pretty much) and the cylinder contribution test came back P0284 Cyl 8 injector circuit contribution/balance fault. What exactly does that mean? How do you correct it? and Could this actually be the injector causing too much fuel to cause the white smoke on start up? Also have 2 other codes I found a B1881 Seatbelt passenger pretensioner circuit open and B1352 Ignnition key in circuit default. Any help on these would be a great help too, but most concerned about the white smoke issue. Thanks in advance

cylinders 8 and 3 almost always fail when running a cct test with ford grey cps.

sounds like you have bad glow plugs or relay.
also pull the connector on the icp and if oil is coming through it to the connector replace it. a bad icp can cause bad starts and a little smoke.

if you've never changed the injector harness might want to change those too.
they last 100-150k then take a dump when you least expect it.

dieselorings has good prices on oem parts.
