Advice on new BATTERY's

Live in Upstate NY...and the cold weather is really taking a toll on my trucks batteries...I have cheap Wal-Mart lifetime warrantee batteries but I am quickly realizing that they are not cutting it....looking for advice on a GOOD set of batteries....price is always a issue but I will pay for quality....maybe a good better best scenario???

Thanks,
Tim

Well, I've got a set of Optima yellow-tops that have started my truck in 0*. I've had them for about 10mo & I haven't had a lick of trouble with them. They do tend to be pricey, but I love them. There is one other battery I was looking @ that claimed to be better than Optima, but I forgot the name.

Optimas are really good but very pricey. I've also had good luck with interstate and sears die hard. Really there is not much difference in most batteries. Walmarts batteries do tend to be cheaper and not last quite as long as some, but generally any battery you get at your local auto parts store with a good warranty should be decent.

Do yours test bad?
What do you mean they are not cutting it? Long cranking?

Any of the Spiral Cell Batterys are good. I am in the Same boat. I need 2 Batterys , and they Cost is an issue. It sucks because no matter how you look at it they won't be inexpensive.

Mine one tested 8.5 V But charged , and tested good under load. Put in the truck and it sucks ***. Now the damn thing took out the other battery in the process.
