Baldwin bypass setup
Hey guys,
I recently bought a baldwin oil bypass setup. From what I have read recently, it seems that the baldwin filters do not filter down as far as other manufacturers. I am referring to the setups that allow you run 25k miles before changing their oil. Can I use another brand of filter on the Baldwin head? Or should I just return/sell the kit (it is still in the box). |

Send it back!!! The other brand filters have different thread pitches. I am working on a economical bypass that will filter sub 5 microns, I just haven't had time to put it together and test it. Stay tuned. The Baldwin filter is rated at 10 micron, if you want a good bypass sytsem check out Oilguard. The FS2500 is way over priced unless you can get a used one cheap. The Amsoil single bypass is good, but stay away from the dual bypass, they have had lots of problems with the flow rates starving the full flow filter and wear metals go up through the roof when the dual bypass is used.

Couldn't be easier on a 7.3 as we have oil access ports right on the side of the block near the oil filter. 30 min tops.
