Oill change intervals
Guys, I've got 2,500 miles on the current oil (Rotella 15/40) in my truck and was wondering how many miles I can safely run between changes. I have a 2000 F250 4x2 with the 7.3 turbo and automatic transmission, bone stock. I only tow with it about 4 times a year (Jeep on car trailer) and the truck currently has 115,000 miles on it. What do you think, 3,000, 5,000, ????

The only way to tell is get the oil tested for the type of driving and oil you use at a place like Blackstone. They do not push any oil, they just give facts.
Saying that, most have found that the oil starts to break down around 5000 miles. I could go to 5500 before it really needs changing, but I change at 5k |

Using Royal Purple....
and Blackstone has the truck up to 12,000 miles between changes with a filter change every 6000. That is based on their recommendations after testing the pulled samples.
You will need to take in account your location, truck use, driving habits, and get your own samples tested of course. |
