dome light

Ive got a 99 250 that I bought used. When I got it the dome light was out of the housing. When I put it a new bulb I found out why the light was out haha. The light will go on at random times and not shut off when you leave the truck etc...
This truck has a lot of wiring hack ups in it so Im assuming this was part of it. I have kinda singled it to the drivers side door that is causing the problem but I cant find where the door switches for the dome light are in the door? Are they in the latch or something wierd like that?

also I would like to throw in a dome light that has a switch - has anybody found one that fits well in a 99 or is it as easy as getting one from a new PSD?
I was flipping through the Grote cataloge and I was thinking of picking up one from them as I am already redoing the headliner so I could easily cut a new hole for the light.

The activation switch is in the door latch itself, try spraying some WD40 in there and work the lock and open and shut the door.

well I sprayed some ZEP degreaser in the latch to try and free up some of the gunk and then sprayed some penetrating oil (didnt have WD40) and it worked great for about 20 mins....
I was gonna getting some electrical spray and try that tomorrow..

how hard is it to get the assembly out to take a better look at it?
