I'm in a 08' F350 and I need to turn it in in May when the lease ends. Was gonna buy it but can't afford it now. Looking to spend less than $15,000.
I found a 2000 crew cab for $12500 with 140000 miles. Any advice? Thought about a 6.0 but I'm told to stay above 05' and that takes beyond my $15000 cap. |

If the 2000 is an XLT or lariat, 4x4, in good cond, that's not a bad price for the mileage and year...
I got my truck for 9500, an xlt with cloth, 4x4, cab/chassis truck without the bed with 143K miles... |

Where are you located at? 12,500 seems a little high. I have no intention of selling my 01 but I wanted to see what kind of deal I could get on a 08. My truck is a xlt cc, has 142 K miles, stock except for a TS 6 POS, was spotless, runs great, never pulled more than my 20 foot boat ect. ect. and they would only offer me $7,000 on trade. The deal would have been a 08 F250 XLT sticker $46,800 for $35,000 then minus my truck for trade. Seemed like a dealer favorable transaction to me.

I would buy the 7.3 or look for a 12 valve. You can pick them up pretty cheap.

I got my 2000 7.3 crew cab XLT with 100,000 miles on it for 17,000. Sounds a bit high, but they sell high here in the pacific northwest and it was clean. It hadn't ever towed anything much and it appeared babied. Clean truck all around with good tires and new 16" wheels on it. Best purchase I could have made. It's a solid truck that doesn't leak or do anything strange. I'd say go for it, as long as it is solid. Just don't buy anything you are going to need to chase around to keep safe and solid. That's my .02.
