idm mod ?

what do people mean when they mod the idm i know what it does but how would you modify it

2000 f-350
Dp-tuner modifstock-100perf-140 extre
custom cold air intake/stage 2 diy injectors
5in mbrp stacks
33in allterrains 4in skyjackerkit

They replace the resistor in the IDM to increase the voltage to the injector to make it fire faster. It usually bumps it up from 120 to 140.

It involves taking apart the ECM and soldering in there, meaning I'm afraid to do it.

Old Truck: 00 F350 XLT DRW: basic first few mods. S&B, 4" straight pipe, gauges, CCV, EBPV and Wastegate line deletes, LED Sills, sweet custom headlights, smoked cab lights, Ventshades, Tint.
Traded in at 196k miles.

"Brand Newish" Truck: 02 Chevy S10 2.2L 5sp. Reg cab 4x2. Badass custom made shifter, foglights, 20% tint, AVS Vent-shades, Stock Intake mods, Electric Fan conversion .
~ 95k miles.

whats it involve to do that on my 2000 and were are they located cuz i know where it is on my 97 but couldnt find it on the oo and is the mod worth the time

What kinda HP/TQ? Anything?

remove the inner fender on the driver side and look up behind the rear section of the fender and youll see a box just haning there, thats the idm.

if it means anything, i did this mod along with the ptm2 pcm swap on my early 99 and i could not be more impressed. way better throttle response, way better.

ECM?? NO THE ECM IS INSIDE THE TRUCK BY THE PARKING BRAKE

THE IDM IS LOCATED INSIDE THE INNER FENDER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND AFTER YOU REMOVE IT.. YOU TAKE IT APART AND REPLACE A RESISTOR IN IT TO INCREASE INJECTOR VOLTAGE SO MAKE THEM SNAP ALOT FASTER....THERE IS WRITE UP SOMEWHERE LET ME LOOK FOR IT AND SEE IF I CAN POST IT UP

it took 45 minutes to do this mod. the hardest part is cleaning off the old silicone in order to reseal it correctly, haha.
