white smoke/cold start?

Im new to the diesel world so please excuse my lack of knowledge in case this is a stupid question. Why does my truck poor out white smoke when I first start it when its cold out, it does it for about 30 sec and then it goes away?

If it helps, it is a 2002 PSD w/TS performance chip/K&N cold air intake kit/5 inch exhaust-no muffler/garret turbo pedestal(ebpv delete). Oh and it has 97,000 miles on it.

Any answers are much appreciated, thanks

make sure the glow plugs are working. it's common for the glow plug relay to go bad. the wait to start light will still illuminate but the glow plugs aren't getting any juice

During cold weather, it's fine if it's puffing out white or whitish blue smoke & then disappears. I had started a thread a while ago about the same thing & everyone said it's natural. It's a little unburnt fuel & condensation @ low temperatures. If it's puffing white smoke while you're driving, you might have problems.
