turbo exhaust housing

what is the benefit to a 1.0 or a 1.15 non wastegated housing? I was looking around on beans site lastnight and came across them. Any one use them and how did you like it?

I am looking to beef up my truck some for towing. It just feels like it is working way too hard for only 11k pounds back there. I already ordered a ts chip with PHPs tunes to replace my edge and a ww that will be here next week. I have a pmr motor so injectors and a big turbo are out of the question.

Ive got this for sale for your truck if youre surging. Scuffy said guaranteed cure for surging. WW MIGHT cure it he said. I bought this, and have not installed it because I have a "prototype" bolt on turbo coming for trial. This unit is still in the box in my computer room here at the house.Let me know if this interests you.

With my edge and my 5th i feel a little surging under heavy go around 15 ish psi and 2700 rpm. its not too bad almost like a little bark. my edge really does not let me get over 16 psi. I hope that bills tunes will push me into the 20s when pulling. maybe that will make my turbo surge? Dont know yet. but ill keep you in mind shane. hey what shocks did you get on your truck a little while back?

I have to 1.0 unwastegated housing from beans. I love it. Spools faster. lowered my egts. I see 30 PSI with tony's tunes easily. thats with my stocl injectors.

You can get a 1.0 wastegated housing from somebody who upgraded their GTP38R ball bearing turbo. You can get them for 1-150 bucks. I think the 1.15 might be too large and you will lose alot of spoolup. Plus I don't know if it would be a good idea to have a stock turbo with no wastegate. They don't survive very long at the 25+ psi range. I think you could possibly be there with some custom tunes. The 1.0 housing could eliminate your surge issues.

I would try the WW and see if it cures your problem. It solved my surge problem. You could combine a 1.0 wastegated exhaust housing and the WW and see what you like...

A 1.0 wastegated or NON wastegated exhaust housing isnt gonna cure surge. the surge is cured on the intake side, or the compressor side of the turbo.

I am not having too many issues with surge, just trying to make the truck more happy when pulling. so the 1.0 will lower egts and give me a faster spool?

yep. it did with me. I am very happy with it. I went unwastegated, but you can go either.
