2007 diesel fuel

i have an 03 7.3 and i was wondering if the new ultra low sulfer fuel is safe to run in my truck,or shoud i add an additive??

and i was wondering if i put automatic trans fluid in my tank can the d.o.t. get me for running off road fuel??


and i have one more thing,i have a hypertec III programmer and i was wonder if i can get an edge box or something else to stack with the hypertec??

yes, it's safe to use...an additive wouldn't hurt anything and the right additive will help your injectors live a longer life.

i thought it was good for diesels to run atf in the fuel once and a while??

you'll be fine running it in your truck. Supposedly distributors are putting some sort of lubricant additive in the fuel already to compensate for the lack of sulfur. I've had ulsd around here for close to 6 months and haven't had any problems. I do however add diesel kleen most of the time just for my own piece of mind. IMO its never a bad thing to use some additive. As far as tranny fluid in your tank, I would advise you against it. Causes more problems than it cures from what I've heard on this site. Yeah, definately no tranny fluid in the tank....fuel lube is designed to work in the fuel system. tranny fluid may, but isnt meant for it.....

Check out Powerservice and K-100 products.....both companies have good products and websites detailing concerns about ULSD.

The fuel should work fine. The only problems I've heard of so far (in PSD's) is a slight loss in MPG and issues with the fuel filter seal, which is designed to swell and seal from the sulfer, which the fuel is now practically without.
