Which shift kit?

I'm going to have a local Ford trans tech go thru my auto transmission and am looking for recommendations on a shift kit. I want a firm shift but nothing that is going to snatch the rearend out. I tow a 3000 lb boat with the truck. Will the shift kit control the shift in 1-2-3-OD and lockup? What is the difference between going with a shift kit or going with a different valve body?

These are some excellent options BTS valve body, John Woods Valve Body, or as syzd said the transgo tugger kit is good as well
