trailer brake controller help

hey guys,
all of a sudden my trailer brakes won't work. i have a prodigy and it has always worked great, but recently it won't show a connection when plugged to a trailer. all of the lights still work on whatever trailer i am pulling, but nothing as far as brakes. last week i pulled a trailer that had a birds nest for wiring, and am thinking that i might have blown a fuse or something because now the prodigy doesn't have any power to it. so my question is, is there a fuse or a relay i can check, and if not what should i look for.

thanks,
travis

What do the lights on the controller show when you first start your truck with a trailer plugged in to the truck? If anything shows up, does it change after about 15 seconds or so? Do the lights on the controller show anything when you press on the brake pedal (again, with a trailer plug connected.) I'm going from the "Quick Reference Card" for my Prodigy. I do remember reading, in the installation manual that I can't find, that "if the trailer breakaway switch is activated while the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle, it may damage the brake controller". There also may be a fuse in the brake controller wiring under the dash (aftermarket), but I don't think that one was included with mine.

Good luck.

Tom
