Wastegate Question

So what happens if I unhook the red vacuum?? line to the wastegate?? What is the effects, what will it hurt, what can I gain? Just wanted to know. Still learning!? Oh yeah, what can also cause the SES light to come on when I accelerate from about 30 to 65/70 coming on an on ramp, grade, hill, etc? Sometimes it comes on and will go out a little while later, and sometimes it won't go out till I shut off the truck and restart it!? Thanks for the help

Don't have a tool to pull the codes, and being stationed here in Key West (Navy) not any parts store that can or will help out with a scanner. So give me a guess or anything that might help. Truck is a 2001 f-350

i dont know if yalls trucks have a fuel filter light but mine does and before i changed the fuel pump i could rev it up in neutral(for a smoke show) and the fuel filter light would come on. maybe you have a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. just a guess

Your check engine light sounds like an overboost code. Do you have a chip, programmer or module installed? Did you unhook that red line when it did this? Unhooking that red line will make the computer unable to control the boost. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have a boost guage installed.

If you have a 10k mod, that could explain why you get the SES light underheavy acceleration. If I have my defuser 18k turned all the way up I will sometimes have the same thing happen. I too have my red line unhooked and struck it on one of my intercooler clamp bolts, so it can still pull vacum. When I go over 24psi. I also get the overboost code, and SES light.

2002 F350 7.3 PSD. 2wd. Auto, CrewCab Dually, Loaded, 5in. Straight pipe exhaust w/6in Tip, AFE Stage II Intake, Dfuser 18k Mod, Autometers on the piller, .

Did the same thing before and after I did the 10k Mod. and with or without the waste gate vacuum disconnected. So I guess I am still chasing my tail. Fuel filter was just changed a month ago. I am doing the fuel shim mod this weekend. So maybe that might help?!
