Idle Control Box quit working...

Hi guys, been using this forum for info for awhile now but I'm a first-time poster. Hopefully someone has a simple answer to this.

Here's what's up with my problem... my factory idle control box has been working great since I bought the bus 4 months ago, till last week when it decided to quit working. I've checked fuses and a few wires and it all looks like it's in working order. Do these boxes go bad? Is there a known issue that makes them stop working?

What it is:
1999 E-450 - 258k miles.
7.3 PowerStroke diesel
Para-transit bus modified into a Party Bus for my limousine service.
BIG sound system, lots of LED interior lights and a 700 watt power inverter running a 32" flat-screen TV.

2 new batteries
New "ambulance" alt.
New starter.

The idle control box is the one with Charge, PTO and LCD display and is needed for this bus to keep everything alive.

Will the "Idle Control MOD" work on this bus if I can't figure this out?

Anyone that wants to see pics of it can look at them at Premier Limousine of Dayton, LLC or MySpace.com www.myspace.com/prelimo -

Premier Limousine and Premier Party Bus - 937-371-5034 - 42 - Male - DAYTON, Ohio

Thanks ! ! !

Addition: My cruise control isn't working either. The idle control sounds like it starts to kick the idle up then stops. Could this be a problem with my cruise control?

Problem found and fixed... I had installed LED brake lights in the back of the bus, this caused the cruise control to stop working. It seems that Ford cruise control will not work if the brake lights don't have the proper resistance, LED lights have way less resistance than a standard bulb so the system thought the brake lights didn't work.

My fix: I installed one of the stock tail lights inside the bus and left the LED lights on the outside. This added just enough resistance for the system to function properly.

Just for your information, the "high idle mod" would work on your bus..
