6 Speed conversion question please help

I am just about done with the auto to 6 speed conversion in my excursion. It's a 2000 with the 7.3. I even went as far as to change out the steering column to the correct one. I went to start it last nite and it wont turn over. All of the accessorys turn on but it wont crank. Almost as if it is not reading that the truck is in park. Is there a part of the auto harness i might have to loop. Everyone I talked to about doing a swap never mentioned having to mess with the harness at all. Please help me im in the dark on this one. Any input would be helpfull. Thanks

yea but theres electronics going to the auto. what about throttle sensors and such also? id think you'd have to modify the harness some way for it to start, and you'd have to hook up your neutral safety switch with the clutch too.

id love to see pics and hear how she drives!

Send a message via AIM to ABoyAndHisToys
+ 1 on the Neutral Safety Switch.. A buddy of mine did the conversion about a year ago. I'll reach out to him and see what he says.

Ya Iwas thinkin the same thing about the neutral safety swith. I may try and put the auto column back in to see if that will fix it cause I noticed a switch that connects to the shifter maybe that will send a signal to the pcm that the truck is in park. IDK though Ive been messing with this thing for a month now Im beginning to think I may have gotten over my head a little, But I know it can be done i just gotta find someone who has done a swap in an f250 or something. I will def take pictures and video when it is done.

Or I wonder if I could wire a clutch switch to the starter relay I guess I would have to find the correct harness to tap into for that though.

I bought my PCM at a local salvage yard the specializes in truck's and suv. They carry alot of Super Duty parts. I think i paid $75 for it.

You shouldn't need the harness tho, just the PCM. Nowhere, in info about this swap, have i seen anything about needing the harness. There should be somewhere to plug the neutral safety switch in at i would think.
