S&B Intake To Quiet!

Does anyone else think the turbo noise from there S&B intake is to quiet??

i dont think so but you could always remove the cover .... i would also condider getting a better tuner over the e power and banks 6 gun... your not really making any HP with those 2....

def do that before you do the ported housing and any of your other uprades

Uhm Nooooo. Mine is loud man. When I let off and the wastegate does it's thing ... my mom was with me once and she said, "What the HECK was that?!" She thought something exploded

Then again, I have the hood insulation removed, CAC tube foil removed, and wastegate unhooked and plugged. Makes it a little more audible


Do you have the first gen or second gen one??? I have the second gen, MUCH better design.

I tried removing the cover but didnt change the sound any. Ive had 4 other powerstrokes over the years and had always run AFE before. They were much louder than this S&B. As for the tuners ive never been as impressed with a tuner as i am with the E-power. What tuner would u recomend?

I totally agree when you let off of it, its loud as hell but when your excelerating its just not that loud. Cac foil removed?

have you ever tried custom? because none of those off the shelf tuners have anything on custom tuners? i recommend the TW chip because you get lifetime reburns... Tony Wildman Chip

do a search for 7.3L chip and you will see that the majority of the people do not run off the shelf tuners like the r power, banks, BD ect.

Yes the intercooler pipe on the driver's side, it has sound deadoning foil on it. It's this crap isulation foil glued on there like dynomat. When you remove it, it's alot louder with an intake, a lot. It's awesome. That is the Foil Delete Mod. I did it at the same time that I put my intake in. Made a world of difference in sound.

The e-power is in fact a custom tuner. You have to send all of the info off your truck to ATS then they write programs for it send them back to you and you have to use Live Load to install them on the programer
