I have a late '99 250. It doesn't have fog lights. I am interested in some fog lights. Are they hard to put on? I installed rear lights on my truck for night time hitching up so I am ok with wiring. Where should I get some?
Also, just like the fog lights, I would like some nice clear headlights ('99 headlights are not clear lenses). Any suggestions? Maybe a newer year truck that I should get to replace them with?
Or do you know something better?
You will have to buy a fog light wire harness, pig tails for the fog lights, a set of fog lights, and some kind of switch since the factory one will not work. You can order it all brand new at Your Premiere Source for Ford Truck Parts | Powerstrokeshop.com or pick them up at a junkyard somewhere... Easy to install...
As far as the headlights go I would just get a set of 05+ ones off ebay. They are not OEM but the quality still looks good. They are about half the price. Then you will just need the pig tails for the headlights and wire them in. You will have to do some cutting on the header panel for them to fit. But it takes maybe 10 minutes each side and then they mount right up. 10x better then the frosted headlights you have...plus they will look much better too...
Can I simply buy replacement fog lights and set them in and hook them up like regular fog lights (with a toggle switch in the cab) or do I need that entire setup?
Also, for the '05+ headlights, you are saying I need to replace the plug with a new plug to fit the new head setup? As in, cut off my female/male plug (not sure which it is on the truck side) on the truck and replace it with the new one?
