Fuel Bowl Drain Line

I want to install a longer hose from the existing drain line to near the bottom of the engine. that way, I can drain [water and] fuel into a container instead of all over the engine and the ground. so the QUESTION is: what size line/hose do I need??? anybody know? thanks.

I just used a piece of regular black 3/8 fuel line on my 2000 and it worked pefect.......I also clamped it on with a 3/8 hose clamp, and hung it about 1in. below the front axle housing.....works great!!! way less messy!!
