Ok, so im not new to the powerstroke, i have a 95psd. Im lookin at a 01' is there anything i need to know? Any quirk's to this year? What kinda performance upgrades do the best on this year? Still a Wildman?
Its a:
2001 f350 auto psd, 111k miles. Recent trany work, and it shifts WAY better then stock. New bat's, and brake's. It has a cold air intake and exaust. no chip or programer. Thanks guys

Yep, go with TW. (7.3 Tuning GOD)

Its easier to upgrade to better turbos(GP38R, ect.....)
You have the better PCMs in the 2000 up years.

They respond well to intake, exhaust ect. And you have better HPOP, which will feed larger injectors better than the OBS and early 99 15* HPOPS.

Well, besides the #8 injector always being on the watch & CPS issues, they're great! I've got my '01 last Dec. with 87,000mi. & just did the 4th oil change on it tonight @ 105,679 & haven't had any major problems. I'm sure someone will have more input on our trucks. Maybe a tech can give some good advice.

The 2001 had the dreaded mechanical diode that would lock the trans in second gear. Thousands of tranny's were replaced because of this folly!!! If the trans has been rebuilt by a qualified tech this problem should be rectified. Just do a good inspection of all components, if it has a K&N filter in the airbox run away from it!! There is write up about what to look for in a used PSD.
