Drag Racing?!

Alright.... This summer, I'll most likely end up towing my brothers '54 F100 to the drag races!!! And I was thinking, while I'm there, I might as well give it a go and play with the PSD too!!! Right?

Right now, my PSD is pretty well stock. I honestly don't know if I'll have a TW chip and whatnot by the time the races come around (someday I will, but being a student, I can't afford too many mods right now). Anyway, I had a couple questions about drag racing.

Just from playing around, I know for a fact that even stock, I can't get traction in 2wd. Obviously, I'll have to launch the truck in 4x4. Now, my question is, do I leave the truck in 4x4 all the way down the track? Or shift out of 4x4?? I have a manual transfer case (just incase that makes a difference).

My other question involves launching the truck... Since my truck is automatic, what's the best way to launch the truck?? Can I build boost at the line by holding the brake down and giving it fuel??

Thanks guys!!! By the way, here's my brothers '54, incase anyone is curious:

I don't listen to music, I listen to my exhaust. Gets me in the mood.
