Well i have been lookin on ebay and such cuz i have got a bad case of pms (powerstroke modification syndrome) and i cam across this map fooler..
and it says "The Overboost Eliminator keeps the 7.3L Powerstroke Ford PCM from defueling due to exceeding 24 lbs of boost, which can happen regularly if you have a chip, tuner, programmer or other modification" now i have the chip and all my guages.. now would it be worth it and or otherwise safe to put this on my 1999 Ford F-250 CC Stroker it says that "This is a complete plug in solution. No adjusting blow off valves, or complicated plumbing. Plug this in and dial the boost up. Don't forget to disconnect the red pressure line to the wastegate actuator." so if some one could help me on this decission and let me know what positive effects this will have on my truck.. thanks here is a picture of the device.

I went to Home depot and got a compresser regulator and two barbed male fittings. Cut the MAP line and set the guage and put it inline. Set the guage to 20psi, and was good to go. The only draw back is, if you have a digital set of guages, it will only see boost numbers upto what you have the guage set at(20psi) but if you have a t-fitting in the map line already, put the guage after the t-fitting and you will be fine. I think it was $15-20 and about 5 minutes of work. And pull of the red line that goes to your wastegate.
You Might get an extra 1-3psi depending on your mods, but hey, for 20 bux, its worth it. |

You'll also notice that in the ad it states something bout will not help MPG, Thus is because of resistors and/or diodes it tells the PCM that it is getting max boost even off idle. So the PCM pumps all the fuel it can even at idle.
