i've had two psd's in the past and did not know about this. i think i want to do it. if the lower 15 quarts that we normally change doesnt mix like it is supposed to with the 3 quarts in the hpop / heads then it seems logical to change it.
They was a debate on this a while back but I did try it when I heard about it and I do believe the oil stays cleaner a little longer verus going black within a weeks time its not something I'd do very often buts worth trying
Whats your thoughts on this Scott when someone else brought it up a while back I figured what the heck on my next oil change I would try it seemed to be a little cleaner but haven't done since then
This is about as worth doing as drilling the fuel plugs in the block.... and we all know how that thread turned out. Powerstrokehelp.com makes me laugh when I watch his videos, that guy thinks he's a magician.
Just changed this oil yesterday in our O.B.S 7.3 and i think it was worth it. Also canged the engine oil after and the oil on the stick was as clean as when the truck was brand new.
That guy lost me at "drilling out the bolts" in the heads to get more power/fuel. I think CHenry asked me about the HPOP oil change before it became a discussion. I told him that I was lost for words other than "Huh?".
That's why I stayed out of that discussion. I just hope that everyone on this site is smart enough to take his information with a grain of salt.
just wanted to check for opinions and i see it'll be about 50 / 50.
just didn't know if this was really a big hidden secret or not and if the concensus was (especially by psd mechanics) was that it would definitely help the longevity of the engine.
I suppose he thinks you need to completely let all the air out of your tires before inflating with new air!! I heard it will add 22 HP, especially if you change the blinker fluid to synthetic!! Some folks just have to screw with stuff. Oh well helps keep guys like Scott employed!!
