My apologies sir, I did not mean to come off as ignorant, and I do not know much of anything when it come to diesels so I wish to not sound like a know it all, because I do not know much at all (try to learn a little every day), and only know what I get from here and random diesel classes. However, when I saw the statement that 10w-30 was not engineered for diesels I became very frustrated because I hear this statement a lot. It is recommened by Ford to run a 10w-30 when below 30 degrees, so right now around here lol. If you wish to purchase 10w-30 in your area I would recommend checking with your local Ford dealer, thats what they start putting in trucks around here at the start of November. It has helped tremendously with cold and very cold starts. Again I apologize for the way the previous post came off and hope that you do not think of me as a super star, just trying to demonstrate a point (that was probably done poorly and with out good taste).

To tell you the truth, AJF, I believe I went off the deep end....again. I apologize, too as I should've just made some corrective criticism instead of popping off. I had no idea about the oil, but being insulting instead of admitting I've learned something just usually isn't me. I do appreciate your apology, & also appreciate learning something new! Thanks, buddy!

You dont have to go to ford.. The wal-mart in my area has rotella 10w30 for $10.00 a gallon.. Usually the dealers dont stock anymore than a case in the parts department.. Or atleast around here.. I acually like the additives in the rotela anyways... Hope it helps...

+1 on Wal-Mart! I just got rammed @ NAPA with 2, 3gal boxes of Rotella 15w40 & was told by a guy there I could've gotten the same oil @ Wally World for a crapload less than what I just paid.....after I cashed out!

15w40 @ Wal-Mart rocks! I wish I had known sooner! I thing Rotella just disappears off shelves, aside from being empty @ Wally World. NAPA was actually my last resort after either other parts stores running out, or just not having enough for a whole oil change! RI really sucks when it comes to stocking stuff for oil burners!

I actually get Motorcarft at Wal-Mart...I can't get Rotellia because I made promise a couple years ago that is long story lol, anyway if you have trouble finding Rotellia oil cheap I would recommend TSC, Orscheln Farm and Home Store, Boomgars(sp), or some kind of farming supply store or your local International Truck Dealer...they have a freaking giant supply/display here in Lincoln.
