cruise (speed control) and overhead digital compass etc. not working

hello,

i am a third time 7.3 powerstroke owner but this is my first post as this is the first psd site i have joined. i've found alot of good info on here so far.

i just bought a 2000 F-350 CCSB 4x4 with a 6 1/2" pro comp lift that i couldn't pass up. i bought it with a few issues that i am getting around to fixing.

first...abs light on all the time. previous owner said the speedo would stop at times and the overdrive button would flash when the speedo stopped (which i seen it do). a few searches indicated to me that the vss was bad on the rear diff. replaced the vss and the problem was corrected (so far). great info!!

second (still needs to be fixed)...the cruise control is not working as well as the overhead digital readout. it sounds as if these two are tied together from the way it sounds but i cannot find the remedy after using the search engine.

my question is - are these two tied together somehow with a simple fix. any input would be appreciated. i figured i'd see if it is something simple before i started tearing stuff apart. the fuses are good and so on...also, the codes were cleared and not revealing anything relating to this issue.

thanks in advance

can't wait to do the brakes and ball joints and then get to some mild performance stuff cuz i never modded any of my other psd's.

thanks!!!

If it's not a blown fuse, I doubt they're tied together. The only way one item on a circuit would blow out another or more items on the same circuit would be a fuse.

thanks!

as for the abs light...now its coming back on sometimes and the overdrive on / off flashes sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. a solenoid went out in my '03 psd tranny which was luckily simple enough with 90,000 on it.

actually, the airbag warning light has came on recently, too. im gonna start tracing the grounds to and from the abs unit, too. it came on this morning on the way to work along with the overdrive on / off light. it was raining out but dont know if it was a coincidence or not. on the way home everything was fine.

seems to be pretty common in these trucks from the research im doing and i guess im the lucky one who buys the used ones w/the problems. only one i didn't have warning light problems with was my '99.
