looking to buy another diesel, found one i have questions

ok i found a 99 f350 crew cab dually with 250k guy wants 4k for it, it has an iussue it runs but will die and blows oil out the dipstick, but he says if you wait it will start back up, is this a good deal is it something i could go drive to get and fix and drive home

could be a simple fix, the key is getting it to run long enough to check blow by.

when the trucks running flip the oil fill cap over and place it over the hole.
if it gets blown off it has blow by issues, if it just vibrates off its fine.

ok so if it has blow by issues then i think i will just pass, got an 06 im looking at as well

I would think that it might be blowing oil out the dipstick tube because the crank case vent could be clogged. It could be that simple or it could be something more serious.
