01 F250 7.3L 220k

Was looking at a used F250 this would be be my 1st diesel. It's a quad cab short box with 220k miles what should I be looking for? And does anyone know any reputable places to look over this truck in the Appleton or Green Bay area of Wisconsin?

Actually from the area... I have never been there but have heard great things about Performance Diesel. It is right off Ashland Avenue in Green Bay.

Check blow by, with truck warm turn the oil fill cap upside down on spout and see if it blows or just vibrates off.

Check oil pan for rust/leaks

Being from that cold of climate I would be there first thing in the morning and see how well it starts unplugged, if it starts easily then your glow plugs and injectors are in decent shape. If they are plugging it in I would be concerned about either of those having issues.

Take intake off turbo if they will let you and look at fins to see if it looks dusted and check shaft play.
