Thumping Sound

I've got this thumping sound coming from the front floorboards. Its non-stop all the time while driving. It doesnt happen when hitting bumps or on any certain roads, its just all the time. Anybody have any ideas ive heard it could be the swaybar, but i dont see how that could be it.

...hmmm, if you feel it all the time maybe it is a belt seperation in one of your tires...jack up each wheel and spin it while holding your hand flat over it and feel for any irregularities.

I dont think its a tire, it comes from both sides of the floorboard and you can feel it underneath your feet. My tires only have about 3000 miles on them if even.

Check the sway bar bushings, as well as your shock bushings. When they go bad you will get rattles, thumps, and a bunch of other wierd front end noises.

Check your swaybar as stated, jack up the front of it and check your wheel bearings and ball joints too just to help rule anything else out.

If it is under your feet it has to be the sway bar bushings, that's what they do when they get real bad. Feels like someone is hitting the floorboard with a hammer!! You have two choices, replace the bushings themselves with ones from ES, cost is about $35, or you can just order two new end links from Ferd. I bought mine at Ford Parts and Ford Diesel Parts at Powerstroke Shop cost was around $45 each. I am warning you replacing them is a real pain, not getting the new bushings in, but getting the old ones out!!!

Add lower shock mount bolts to the list of items talked about above, I had one break, the other was worn. I had searched for the same type noise, your talking about did balljoints, sway bar bushings ect...as soon as I replaced the shock bolts the noise went away.

I've got the same thumping sound on my '02 F250. It only happens when I hit my brakes, does this narrow down the possibilities of what the issue could be? I'd like to take care of this myself if at all possible. Where exactly are the sway bar bushings located?
