Thermostat

What degree thermostat are some of you guys running? im not sure what my truck has in it but the temp gauge in my dash stays pretty low. its hard to explain kind of but the temp needle barely hits the (temp symbol) in the gauge

Ford has a 195 temp thermostat in the 7.3. Some claiming using the 203 thermostat from Dieselsite.com has benefits but I truly can't see how 8 degrees makes a hill of beans of difference, can you say PLACEBO!!
The superduties have a very robust cooling system and to run on the cool side is totally normal. Mne has never reached halfway and that was towing heavy up the mountain in 100 degree weather.

yeah thats the same with mine, i know the hotter an engine runs(to an extent) the more efficient it is and the less wear it gets. thanks for the help

203 T-stat brought my water temps up about 10 degrees from the old 195. IH spec's a 203 stat, but it doesnt fit the SD water pump so we get a Ford spec 195 due to Nox emmisions.

For a stock injectored, stock oiled truck, the 203 is the ticket. But once you step up to the next level, stick with the stock 195.
