I did it because mine started sagging and getting tore up from the belt. I didn't notice a difference in hearing the turbo. But the hood is about 10 pounds lighter.

if you have a white hood it makes it all nasty when you open the truck...my dads work truck looks like someone pooped on the inside of the hood.

hmmm,might be more trouble than it's worth, mine is actually in good cond. but just lookin for a lil more whistle I guess the WW is gonna have to be next.

its really easy, I did it, I felt like it was alittle louder. if my truck was brand new and white id do it again. Maybe id paint the underside of the hood black tho? with a huge powerstroke sign.

I did it, it made no difference in sound, at least not that I could tell, but mine at the time looked like crap, so for me better without it....certainly won't hurt anything.

it was nice when flames were hitting my hood, that would have caught fire and i would of had more of a mess. so i was happy it was gone, now i just have burn marks...

heard that if your engine gets too hot without it, it will bubble the paint on the hood. might be just a rumor though.

If you're engine is that hot you have bigger problems than bubbling paint!! I wouldn't bother unless you'rs was sprayed with diesel fuel, or otherwise in bad shape!!
