California guys with injectors - smog question

So I had to get my truck smogged the other day. I have a tuner on it so I was advised by the smog guy to disable the tuner and drive it around 100 miles in stock before getting it smogged. I would like to eventually do injectors, so how are you guys getting around this with smog? I'm curious how big of an Injector can I go and still run on stock tune just for smog.

They plug it into a computer, that's why it has to run in stock. And FWIW I will be doing the Hpop upgrade at the same time as injectors.

they cant tell you have an upgraded hpop.

you can get most injectors detuned to run clean as stock.
i also had to remove my chip for smog test.

so what you can do is have your pcm flashed with a single shot tune that has lots of fuel held back (detuned) so it run clean. talk to your tuner about this.

then again i know of a shop in town that will let me leave my chip in lol

its just a money maker for the welfare state.

on my smog sheet under the emissions testing it says not available, thought that was the point of a smog test, seeing whats coming out of the tailpipe besides just particulate matter...

california ARB is a bunch of morons.

They best "legal" thing you can do is to find a tuner that has access to a smog machine. Not that it matters much for smog compliance though. My buddy tuned up his truck to run clean and strong and failed the test because he didn't put out enough particulate. 150K miles, and he was burning too clean. Yeah, smog is S.M.R.T. Smart.

contact which tuner you want to go with php, gearhead, no limit tuning, and see what they say.
