I don't have front ABS

Apparently my truck did not come with ABS, can I just put on new hubs and plug it in or would I have to program the truck to recognize the front ABS? Is it even possible?

Oh NO! You'd have to add All Sorts of Stuff...

Can't be worth doing unless you had a "donor truck" around. It's not the PCM that's responsible for the ABS, there's a Big Unit between the left battery and headlight assembly. Then a Bunch of plumbing,,, I don't think it could possibly worth the trouble

If I have to add all sorts of stuff then no it's not worth it. However just out of curiosity, what sort of plumbing?

Yes I am sure, no ABS cable from the hub. I don't know why I don't have front ABS, I just don't.

There is RWABS and 4WABS options for these trucks.... it is flat out NOT worth it to upgrade to the 4WABS, and I'm the guy who did power windows/locks with factory stuff, and a 6 speed swap. My donor truck had 4WABS and I considered it... but very quickly decided eff that

Man, those pics of the power window upgrade are crazy. My power windows and locks are acting up now. I guess that's on my list of soon to do. I don't really feel I need 4WABS so no I'm not going to go through the headache of it. Nice truck though man.

I just replaced my passenger side hub a few days ago. I have 4wabs. Can anyone explain why the hub for a 4wabs truck is 1/2 the cost of one without?

My guess would be the same reason that on an 04 Excursion the hub with fine thread lug studs is about 100.00 more than a hub with coarse thread lug studs. And no idea why there is a difference as to which one is the right one other than matching the rest of the wheels.

My 2000 does not have ABS. It was an option in 2000.

I like the fact it does not have it. One less thing to worry about.
