Where to get an upgraded IDM?????

I have seen a lot of posts about the upgraded IDM, and most concern whether to go for it or not. I have already decided to try it. I was looking at doing it a while back but didn't have the cash. I though for sure I had seen the mod for sale for less than $100 as long as I have a working IDM to send.

I emailed swamps and its $275 even with my good IDM sent in. Is there a cheaper place that I cannot find again? would really rather just send it out than testing my soldering skills. Thanks in advance.

No Limit sells a modded IDM, It does not have the depth of modding done to it that the Swamps unit does, but its still a good option...

7.3L BDP IDM modification

I run the swamps unit but have run the standard modded ones as well.

Chances are they're just changing some resistors (something You could probably do for yourself -> Modding the IDM on a 7.3 - TheDieselGarage.com) BUT,,, don't think for a minute this is even close to what Swamps does

I drawback I see is you need to get the IDM resealed well because of where it's located they're prone to getting water in them.

Also, I think the variances in what people get out of this depends on how old the truck is. The earlier they are the more improvement you'll see over stock. In an '01, I wouldn't expect much...

And to be clear, to date the Swamps unit is the single best IDM you can get. Its not just a bumped voltage, but a tuned IDM.

What does "it's a tuned IDM" even mean?
