stalls when you take it out of park

The truck stalls when you take it out of park! Any idea why it would do this?

last time i had a truck do that, it was a bad torque converter/lock up solenoid. that was stuck locked, was a 90 5.0 with the e40d.... ended up cutting a wire and got it working, but it was a beater truck.... (paid $500 for it)..

is the ecm throwing any codes/ OD light flashing? if you get it rolling in nuetral, can you start it and drop it into drive and keep moving, and if so, does it die when you stop(probably shake the cab and die) is so start looking into the plug on the trans(and wiring)/ the lockup solenoid on the trans..
