why is my TFT so high
i got a edge evo2 and i use it as my gauges. on friday night i went muddin and the truck nice and pretty. on the way home i expect to be runnin hot so i think nothin of it. then the next day i clean it all day, day after that i take a 15 minute ride to the grocery store.....TFT is up to 255, EOT-247. that night i went about 45 minutes away, same temp pretty much. get a new air filter and look at the transmission, COVERED in mud. so the next day i spend the whole day knockin off mud from there and my engine. got it to run about 20-25 degrees cooler but its still high. today i was on my knees scraping mud off everything, under my hood has never ever been as clean as it is now. again, i knocked down a few degrees but its still about 10-15 hotter than id like and i dont like when my transmission fluid temp gets even or above my engine oil. any ideas about anything? i am REAAAALLLLLYYYYY hoping my transmission is gonna be fine and hang in there. BTW its stock.

you dont want to see anything over 210 on those trans... i dont think the electronic gauges read correctly on the trans... my dashdaq was always around 25 degrees hotter than what i saw in my autometer gauge.. the autometer had a probe in the trans pan... if you need to cool it down lower get yourself a 6.0L trans cooler and install it in place of your stocker... you can also get a secondary trans cooler to further help cool down the temps.... if you need any help let me know -Raul |

With that much mud, did you spray your cooler off? The tranny cooler is between the AC condensor and the intercooler. If you have the stock cooler, it is low behind the bumper. Don't know if you have a front license plate, but that opening where is/would be is about where it is. You can see it if you look under the rubber shield between the grill and the hood latch. If you got a bunch of mud up in there your cooler may be blocked which, obviously, will keep your temps up. Worth a look. Good luck! |

This may be a total long shot, but have you checked to see if your fluid level is correct? Hopefully, you didn't split a line while mudding and lost fluid....
Like I say a total long shot - I'm just throwing it out there! |
